British Milers Club races at Amba Hotels City of London Mile

We are excited to announce the inclusion of three races dedicated to the British Milers Club (BMC) as part of their pledge to cultivate home-grown athletic talent.

Founded in 1963, the BMC’s main aim is to improve the world standing of UK Middle Distance Running. The Club works in close partnership with UK Athletics and actively encourages athletes and their coaches to strive to achieve world-class success, nurturing talent from school level and upwards. Athletes who have achieved membership to this prestigious club include Lord Sebastian Coe, Dame Kelly Holmes, Steve Ovett and Paula Radcliffe.

The three races will comprise of two men’s races and one women’s race. Twenty BMC members will be invited to each race and prizes will be awarded in each of those.

The winner of the BMC ‘A’ race at the event will win automatic entry into the International Mile for the 2015 Amba Hotels City of London Mile. Prize money will also be up for grabs for the top three athletes on the day, amongst other prizes. The organisers are also providing the winner of the BMC’s Anniversary Mile (male and female), which takes place in Watford on 7th May in honour of Roger Bannister’s sub 4 minute mile, with a free elite entry in the International Mile for 2014, which includes accommodation in the elite athlete hotel on race weekend and free travel. This same prize will be on offer to the winners of the men’s and women’s Watford Grand Prix meeting A 1500m races this summer. Winners must be a BMC member and of British nationality.
